// Challenge
Hadiza Aliyu’s Foundation (HAF), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women, children, and persons with disabilities, faced a growing challenge as it expanded its reach across Nigeria. Despite its strong impact within communities, the foundation lacked a cohesive and modern visual identity that could clearly communicate its mission and values to partners, donors, and the public. The absence of a defined brand system made it difficult for HAF to establish credibility, maintain consistency across platforms, and emotionally connect with its diverse audience. Its existing materials did not fully express the hope, inclusion, and empowerment that lie at the heart of its mission. Through the HAF Refresh 2025 initiative, the foundation sought not just a new logo, but a unified brand identity that would reflect its compassion, professionalism, and commitment to social transformation. The goal was to create a visual system that builds trust, amplifies its voice, and helps the foundation communicate its purpose with clarity and impact across all touchpoints.
// Strategy
To address the challenge, the new identity for Hadiza Aliyu’s Foundation (HAF) was designed to communicate unity, inclusion, and compassion in a clear and modern way. The logo concept was inspired by real human connections, individuals supporting and uplifting one another, which directly ties back to the Foundation’s mission to empower women, children, and persons with disabilities.
The geometric “H” serves as both the Foundation’s initial and a symbolic representation of strength and advocacy. Within it, the negative space forms a pathway, reminiscent of a doorway, a welcoming space that signifies hope, accessibility, and support. The two circular forms above the H represent people coming together, symbolizing community, care, and shared humanity.
